HANDOG

HANDOG
Words and Accompaniment: Julie Abinsay
Music: Klaris Abinsay
First performed at Mt. Peniel Tarlac,
Te Doi Gloria Music Fest, Youth Camp, ECC December 2019

I
Maraming beses na akong nabigo
Maraming beses na akong sumuko
Pero kailanman 'di Ka lumayo
Kamay Mo'y iniaabot

II
Doon sa kalyeng walang dumaraan
Ako ay Iyong sinasamahan
Kadilimam man ang kasalubong
Liwanag Mo'y patuloy na handog

Chorus:
Kaya't ako'y titingala
Pasasalamatan ang Iyong mga gawa
Handog ko sa'Yo ang buhay ko
Ako'y bumabangon para lamang sa'Yo

Bridge:

Kaya't salamat, binigay Mo ang lahat
Aking papuri ay hindi man sapat

Been (1996 Baby POV in 2020)

In twenty-fifteen, she was just nineteen,

Today half a decade has passed,

Surprised by the fact that time ran in a flash,

She's got so much more to surpass.

Her mind's running, her heart's beating,

Her hands' scribbling, but feet's waiting,

Of where, where could she go?

Where will the wind bring her to?

Yeah, a score and a four, that's the years she has lived,

But what does it mean, really wants to discern?

Wanna travel to the year next from now,

She could wear that black attire, cry, bring pride to her tribe.

Well, what more could she do but rest assured,

That no matter what living here on earth will bestow,

Another reason to smile, another reason to cry,

And far more reasons to stay on her Savior's securing arms.

Twenty-twenty, they say all things will be clear and bright,

As sure as matters arise, they will still all boil down,

Another year to create more memories till days fade,

And what remains till the end - the One that never fails.
